THE HISTORY
In the past two years, Butte County has had several disasters. From the Oroville Dam Spillway failures to fires. In all of these disasters The Salvation Army in Oroville was called in to provide meals for the survivors at various shelters and for First Responders on the line.
We have also been called out to support those helping in other areas. The Salvation Army served at the Car Fire in Redding, as well as the Mendocino, Lake and Napa County Fires.
THE NEED
In the past, we have had to rely on other units from area Salvation Army units from out of the area to serve the large number of people. The wait time on an out of area unit causes a delay in our response. By having a unit stationed in Oroville, we will be able to respond to the need faster.
The Salvation Army in Oroville needs to purchase a Mobile Emergency Disaster Kitchen Trailer with the capacity to support a mass population at an evacuation center.
The trailers, are capable of supporting these needs are custom built from the ground up specifically for locations based on the specific needs of the community it will serve.

*In addition to these local disasters, a team from the Oroville Salvation Army were the first Salvation Army Officers on the ground at the Car Fire in Redding.*
THE PLAN
With the purchase of this Emergency Trailer—The Salvation Army of Oroville will be able to:
· Respond to local disasters
· Support other areas in their time of need
· Support local training exercises of First Responders
THE COST
The Cost of the Trailer and A Tow Vehicle is approximately $90,000
